How I Work + What Happens in Therapy

Picture
I work with teens age 12+ building a strong, empowering therapeutic relationship that invites curiosity into their identities, internal landscape, emotions, wants, needs, and goals. I work holistically and psychodynamically integrating Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems depending on what goals the individual teen and their family may have.

Specialities
  • Emotional regulation
  • Behavioral regulation
  • Self-harm and suicidal ideation
  • Gender and sexuality exploration
  • Family dynamics
  • Trauma

 *What is a superbill?
A superbill is a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance provider to seek reimbursement. You pay your therapist directly and are reimbursed by your insurance later. If you are interested in superbill reimbursement, call your insurance and confirm that they 1) accept out-of-network providers and 2) reimburse superbills. Not all insurance providers provide reimbursements from out-of-network provides. Further, sometimes insurance will only reimburse a portion of the fee so it's important to ask how much of your out-of-pocket expense will be reimbursed.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
